I was born in New Orleans, LA and graduated from Isidore Newman School . In 1925, I received an Bachelor's of Arts degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, LA. In 1929, I received a Bachelor's of Laws degree  from Tulane Law School. I was in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. I was in private practice of law  from 1929 to 1957.
