From - Past to Present, a few facts about myself! :)

Hello there, my name is Sheyann Webb I lived in Selma, Alabama with my lovely family. My mother and father, Betty and John Webb raised us eight children, and I admire and love them dearly for it. Even though I disobeyed them, I did it with good intentions. I snuck off even though they forbid me to and I took part of a march, when they didn't want me to. This march was a major turning point and was known as Bloody Sunday. This was a 54 mile march. It was extremely brutal. If I hadn't disobeyed my parents, I couldn't have taken part of a great project and a favorable ending result. Because of the marches, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed to the law. I was known as MLK's smallest freedom fighter. I don't regret a thing from my past.

Education:

I went to Clark Junior High School, in Selma Alabama. I was 8 and in third grade when I decided I wanted to be part of a BIG change. My teachers would always ask me what was going on during the meetings. Sometimes I skipped school to go to meetings held by Martin Luther King Jr. He spoke of the Voting-Rights demonstration and we planned out our march.

My goal at the time was to stand up for our civil rights. Blacks deserve voting rights, we are no different than whites and we should be treated as equals. I wanted to show that US kids could make a big difference even though we are small. I wanted to be part of a movement that could change the world. Now, as an adult, I am apart of organizations and youth groups helping children as a youth advocate. I show them, that they too can make a difference if they believe.

Now, I am a writer, mentor, youth advocate, civil rights activist and humanitarian. I was a co-author who wrote the famous book, Selma Lord Selma.

I was a member of Brown Chapel A.M.E. and clearly the civil rights movement. In 1980, I founded an organization known as KEEP Productions. This is a youth development program.

FUN FACT.. I appeared on many talk shows, most commonly known was Oprah. She is such a great person, I am glad to have met her. She really is an inspiration to all!

I am also an amazing singer, if I do say so myself. I have many favorite songs but the best ones I would say are "Ain't gonna let nobody turn me 'round" and "Come by here Lord".

"If you believe it, you will achieve it. God uses ordinary people to do great things."
