Alright, my wife, Mamie Clark, and I had to figure out a way to better understand the social issues that ruined our society, such as segregation. We ultimately came up with the Doll Experiment, in which we give a black child a white boy doll and a black boy doll and had him or her choose which doll he or she would play with. A majority would select the white boy doll to play with and that alone goes to show the one-dimensional society we were all trapped in.

Mrs. O'Brien, on February 5-18, 1982, I organized the longest civil rights march. I rounded up more than 3,500 supporters to march from Carrollton, Alabama to Montgomery, Alabama. I formed this march for demanding the extension of the voting rights act.
