Greatest Contribution to the Civil Rights Movement: My greatest contribution to the Civil Right Movement was when I became involved in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee(SNCC), the Black Panther Party and the American Communist Party. I have lectured all over the world and am the author of four books.

Education

I went to Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts to study French and my course included a year at the Sorbonne in Paris. After I graduated from Brandeis University, I spent two years at the faculty of philosophy at Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt, West Germany before I started studying under Herbert Marcuse at the University of California. In 1967 I joined the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and the Black Panthers Party. The following year I also became involved in the American Communist Party.
